The detailed structure of an umbrella

In this intelligence era, most products are manufactured by machines or even robots.

Umbrella is however a product nowadays still highly relying on manpower. A handmade umbrella is a type of umbrella that is constructed entirely by hand, with each individual component carefully crafted and assembled by skilled artisans.

Handmade umbrellas often feature intricate details and unique designs, making them stand out from mass-produced umbrellas. The attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into each umbrella also ensures that they are durable and long-lasting, providing reliable protection from rain and sun for years to come.

In addition to their practical use, handmade umbrellas can also be considered works of art. They can be customized with different colors, patterns, and designs, making them a personalized and fashionable accessory.

Many handmade umbrella makers also offer customization options for handles, tips, and other components, allowing customers to create an umbrella that truly reflects their individual style and preferences. Overall, a handmade umbrella is not only a functional accessory but also a unique and artistic expression of craftsmanship and personal style.

It is mainly composed of seven components: canopy, shaft (pole), ribs, tips, handle, end cap (ferrule), and sleeve.

●  The canopy is used when protecting oneself from rain or sunlight.

●  The pole that connects the canopy to the handle is known as the shaft. It provides stability and height to umbrella.

●  The ribs are what gives the canopy its structure and shape.

●  The tips are usually used to apply canopy onto the frame at the end of ribs.

●  The handle is what people hold onto when using umbrella. This can be crook or straight.

●  The end cap is the part which fixes canopy onto frame at the center of umbrella. It also prevents the leaking in heavy rain.

●  The sleeves usually supplied to protect the umbrella when not in use and for transporting.

Each part is manually assembled as a handmade umbrella.
